Districtwide SIS Program and Concept Development Support​

CTS provided comprehensive planning and engineering services to FDOT District Four’s Strategic Intermodal System (SIS), which include highway, transit, rail, seaport, airport, and waterways.
Engineering services were also provided for FDOT‘s Concept Development Unit to identify new projects for the State Highway System.

CTS provided professional engineering and planning Consultant services to support the identification, evaluation, and implementation of concept development alternatives that may become future SIS projects. 

The activities performed by CTS include, but are not limited to, the provision of support to conceptualize, promote, develop, organize, manage, and conduct all elements of multimodal studies and concept designs conducted on the SIS. Studies and recommended improvements are of a multi-disciplinary nature, which involved conceptual engineering, review or development of conceptual design plans, environmental inventory and assessment, travel forecasting, freeway and arterial capacity/LOS analysis, revenue analysis, technology assessment, freight planning, assessment and needs identification, interagency coordination, public involvement, economic evaluations, right-of-way impact estimates, cost estimates, land development, site impact analysis and finance elements. 

CTS managed a variety of tasks, such as performing multimodal SIS facility LOS evaluations, developing SIS corridor action plan/master plans, Interchange access documents and reviews (IJR/IMR/IOAR), multimodal SIS Cost Feasible Plan and Needs Plan Development, Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) development, DRI and Sub-DRI reviews, Comprehensive Plan Review and growth management documentation reviews, ITS and other technology reviews for SIS operation improvements, SIS management database and program development, and concurrency and development plan reviews.
