Client
Florida Department of Transportation, District Six
CTS was the prime consultant and lead for design, public outreach, municipality coordination, scheduling, cost estimates, and all other aspects of the project through post design support.

The SR-5 (SE 2nd Street / SE 2nd Avenue) project included milling & resurfacing, minor widening, ADA upgrades (including sidewalk, curb ramps, and bus stop locations), enhanced signing & pavement markings (including overhead guide signs), signalization, lighting, safety, and drainage improvements. All bus stops on the corridor were upgraded to meet ADA standards. Due to the downtown location, extensive coordination occurred to ensure safety for pedestrians and Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) users.
The scope of work included work underneath the Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) Metromover. Extensive coordination occurred to ensure FDOT had access to complete the necessary work via an access letter application / permit. Access was granted and the project was delivered on-time and within budget.
