Client

Florida Department of Transportation, District 6

This project is comprised of a blend of typical 3R improvements, with additional improvements targeted towards mitigating crash patterns identified in the 3R Safety Review.

Project included milling & resurfacing, minor widening, ADA upgrades (including sidewalk, curb ramps with detectable warnings, and bus stop locations), enhanced signing & pavement markings, signalization (full actuation and video detection where feasible), lighting retrofits for enhanced pedestrian safety, drainage improvements (special reinforced inlet tops within radius returns), maintenance of traffic, and utility coordination.  Project also included minor widening to correct substandard lane widths and cross slope.

The safety portion of the project included replacement of all mast arms at LeJeune Road and closure of the E 8th Court median opening, which required a public hearing and miscellaneous turn lane upgrades. Right-of-way acquisition (permanent easements) was required to properly position the mast arms and provide ADA compliant curb ramps and pedestrian push buttons.
